Living with anxiety or a phobia often means achieving things that other people might not even notice.
  • Maybe you made a phone call you've been avoiding.
  • Maybe you left the house when you didn't feel like it.
  • Maybe you simply got through a difficult day.
Whatever it is, big or small, tell us something you've done recently that you're proud of.

Let's celebrate the wins together.

Mine might sound small to some people, but I'm quite pleased with it.

I've been putting off making a phone call for weeks because I kept overthinking it and imagining all the different ways the conversation could go. In the end, I picked up the phone, made the call, and it was over in less than five minutes.

The funny thing is that I probably spent far more time worrying about it than it actually took to do.

It reminded me that anxiety often makes things seem much bigger in our minds than they are in reality. Still working on it, but that felt like a small win this week.

Has anyone else found that the anticipation is often worse than the actual situation?

I can definitely relate to that.

For me, the anticipation is often far worse than whatever I'm worrying about. I can spend days building something up in my head, only to find that when I finally do it, it isn't nearly as bad as I imagined.

I'm trying to get better at reminding myself of that, but anxiety has a way of making every situation feel like it's the exception!

One small thing I'm proud of recently is that I've stopped avoiding going into a local shop on my own. It doesn't sound like much, and some days are easier than others, but a few months ago, I would have found an excuse not to go.

Still a work in progress, but I suppose that's why we're all here. Getting there, one step at a time.
