When you explain a fear to someone, what kind of response makes you feel understood?
Some people want practical suggestions; others would rather someone listened first, without immediately trying to fix things or saying there’s nothing to worry about. Even well-meant encouragement can miss the mark.
Is there something a friend, relative or colleague has said that you found helpful? Or something you wish people would ask before offering advice?
No need to name anyone or share anything too personal. It would be useful to hear what supportive conversations look like for different people.
