Is hypnophobia the same as challenging yourself not to sleep?

On occasion I will subconsciously challenge myself not to sleep, don’t quite know why, but is this the same as hypnophobia? Sometimes, when I am busy at work, I tend to see sleep as a “waste of time” when obviously it is a very important part of everyday life. Can anyone explain this?

I have suffered phobias on and off in recent years, the key for me is sleep. On the days where I did not get much sleep I could feel my anxiety levels higher than normal as soon as I woke up. It did not take too much to trigger them off and push it to a level which brought on phobias and made for a very difficult day. I think it is foolish and unhealthy to challenge yourself "not to sleep" as I can't see any benefits?
