Do you know anyone with a phobia of clowns?

One of the more bizarre phobias I have come across is a phobia of clowns - something which is a lot more common than you might expect. Does anyone have experience with this particular phobia? Or perhaps you have overcome this phobia in the past?

Strangely enough when I was a kid one of my childhood friends suffered with a bad phobia of clowns which is strange as clowns are really designed for children. From what I remember she did speak about the film IT once and I think she walked in on her parents watching it. She also didn’t like the episode of Are you Afraid of the Dark with the clown in. I think this phobia is directly linked to the media when you think of all the adult horrors and even child ‘horror’ programmes that are out there.
