I have grown up with a phobia for holes which is commonly known as Trypophobia. There is a very interesting article here:-

It seems as though a phobia for holes is brought on because our brain associate small holes with danger. There is a suggestion that we see venomous snakes and the eyes of a tarantula when we see small holes. I’m not sure I agree with this, what do you think?

Apparently can be triggered by any of the following:-

  • Bread and bagels with seeds
  • Cheese with holes
  • Fruits with small seeds like strawberries, raspberries, papaya and kiwi
  • Honeycombs, sunflowers and lotus seed pods
  • Insects and bees
  • Skin on snakes, lizards, frogs and other reptiles
  • Soles of shoes
  • Sponges

Honeycomb is probably the one closest to my fear when it comes to my phobia for holes but still not exact.
