I would be interested to hear how long the average panic attack lasts as when I had my panic attacks they could vary dramatically in length.

It’s the same with me Mark my panic attacks can last minutes or as I just mentioned in a post ,last week I had a panic attack that lasted hours and that was truly horrible. According to statistics the average panic attack doesn't usually last longer than an hour but I think it varies so much for each individual it’s difficult to give an accurate estimate. I know when my panic attacks last longer I sometimes get maybe 15 -30 minutes or so of relief and I can calm down in that time but then it starts over again so now I’m wondering whether I experience one long panic attack or whether it’s a number of shorter panic attacks in a very short space of time. When they do last this long I usually feel on the verge of passing out and I need constant reassurance throughout the day.
