How did you overcome/control your phobia and anxiety?

I would be very interested to hear how other people overcame/control their phobias. Are there breathing techniques, mind exercises you can do, etc?

Breathing techniques are vital to cntrol anxiety and help control overheating of the body which always happened when I was about to take an anxiety/phobia attack. I also think that sleep is very important when it comes to fighting phobias and anxiety. it all boils down to mind control which is easier when you feel fresh, awake and in control.
